How to prepare a mentoring session and get the most from it

A mentoring session pays off much more when you arrive with a specific question and clear context. Here is a simple way to prepare.

1. Define the outcome you want

Write in one sentence the decision or progress you want to leave with. For example: "decide whether to accept the management offer" or "have a three-month study plan".

2. Bring just enough context

  • A five-line summary of your situation.
  • The two or three options you are considering.
  • What you have already tried and how it went.

3. Use the AI assistant between sessions

Your mentor's assistant helps you organise your thoughts and prepare the next conversation. It does not replace your mentor or the advice of a qualified professional, but it lets you keep moving without waiting for the next appointment.

4. Close with a next step

End every session by agreeing one concrete action and a date to review it. Start the next session from there.
